St. James’ Namamba Girls’ Secondary school is a new public Day /Boarding girls school located in Kakamega County, Kenya. It was started in 2016 by the community to help the poor girl child from the surrounding primary schools to attain secondary school education. The main objectives of the school include: –
  • Promote the education of the girl child and create an enabling environment for learning.
  • To instill the necessary skills to the girls to help them be self- reliant in the future.
  • Expand on the school compound.

The school is in need of more classrooms and a dormitory.

SCHOOL ENROLMENT

There are 212 girls in the school of which 100 are boarders.

Through the sponsorship of TERJA Foundation, Namamba Girls School is now a member of a global network of girls’ schools- ICGS (International Coalition of Girls Schools. Through this program, they gain access to networking, resources and professional development.
