During the event, the Participants assembled wellness kits during their self-compassion workshop by practicing empathy for others. They talked about their love for giving back to the community.

TERJA Team members (Ashika Skeele and MaryBeth Pappas Baun) were in attendance on the opening day. Ashika Skeele had an opportunity to share information about TERJA , the history, mission and the work. MaryBeth carried out an improvisational activity with the girls that explored the power of using one’s voice to achieve understanding and make social impact.

The girls at the leadership conference agreed to deliver the wellness kits to the The Montrose Center NEST Program, a collaborative to prevent LGBTQ youth homelessness across Harris County.

On Monday, July 11, 2022, MaryBeth and Ashika delivered the Wellness kits at the Montrose center
One of our volunteers, Savannah Skeele, was recognized as a Spotlight Volunteer at the event.
