Menstrual Health, Sewing & Women’s Economic Empowerment

What began as a reusable sanitary pad project has grown into a women-led sewing and economic empowerment initiative.

In 2025:

  • TERJA donated four additional sewing machines, bringing the total to six machines in the village
  • More than 90 girls and women participated and are engaged.
  • Women sewed reusable sanitary pads, underwear, bags, dresses, and clothing
  • Ongoing menstrual health workshops were held in January, May, and September
  • Women practiced table banking, saving money together and reinvesting in materials
  • School dropouts joined the group, gaining skills, confidence, and income pathways

This project continues to reduce period poverty while creating sustainable livelihoods and leadership opportunities.
