We are excited to partner with Baylor College of Medicine and their team of medical students on a storytelling project in Houston, Texas. Baylor College of Medicine students actively engage as mentors, helping students develop their story ideas and videos while building meaningful connections. These medical student volunteers assist participants from the Elementary program with storyboarding, filming, and editing their video projects.
By collaborating directly with the community, medical students gain insights into health inequities and can develop targeted interventions. The project also promotes communication skills among children, aligning with TERJA’s mission of fostering intercultural communication and problem-solving.
. This collaboration strengthens community partnerships and addresses health disparities, while also creating opportunities for skill development and problem-solving for children. The video format of the project helps bridge the digital divide and provides a platform for children to share their stories and perspectives.
