Program

Youth Empowerment and Leadership Programs

Capacity building is a process by which individuals, communities and institutions increase their abilities to identify their problems, perform core tasks, define and achieve their objectives in a sustainable manner. Capacity development will be crucial for TERJA in order to improve the quality of services/ programs to children and young people and the community as a whole. TERJA will consequently support economic and self-reliance activities and those that empower youth and promote inclusion.
Program

TERJA Internship & Volunteer Exchange Program

The volunteer/ Internship Exchange program is aimed at supporting young people from both Africa (Kenya) and USA to gain exposure, experience, and employability skill. The volunteers will be trained and supported throughout the program which will include community, environmental and adventure projects.

The idea is to create a global community of inspired young people committed to working regardless of age, social background, culture, nationality to build and maintain strong and sustainable communities across the globe. The volunteers will work alongside local communities, project partners to expand access to education, improve health and sanitation facilities and introduce alternative energies to communities TERJA works with. TERJA will work with volunteers to help accomplish its goals. The internship/exchange program will be one of the strategies to identify young people who can offer their skills and time to the organization and gain meaningful exposure and experience. International volunteers through an exchange program with high schools and universities in the US and other agencies will be recruited.
